PFAH (Parish Families Against Hunger)
Every day, 40,000 children die from starvation. That's one every five seconds!
What can we do about it?
Parish Families Against Hunger (PFAH) is a joint ministry of St. Cecelia, Algona; St. Michael, Whittemore; St. Joseph, Bode; St. Benedict, Algona; St. Joseph, Wesley; and Sacred Heart, Livermore. Our mission is to package meals for the most needy children of the world.
Our goal is to raise approximately $30,000 to allow over 500 people to package meals!
For every $5,000 we raise, we are able to package 20,0000 meals. Each person can package 150-170 meals per hour to help make a difference for those less fortunate! Along with our financial goal, it is also our goal to have an annual packaging day on Palm Sunday.
Please consider supporting our fundraising events throughout the year and joining us on packaging day.
Country Store Products for Purchase
At each fund raising event, including our annual Fall Festival in September, our Country Store offers parishioners the opportunity to purchase products with the proceeds going towards Parish Families Against Hunger. The products are donated by parishioners who share their talents of sewn, crocheted, or knitted hand-made products, wood craft products, garden and canned products, and home-baked goods. If you are interested in donating a product to the Country Store, you may contact Pat Walker (515-295-2869), coordinator of the Country Store.
PFAH Fall Festival is held in mid-September annually. Join us for food, fun, and fellowship!
